In this blog post, we’ll update you on the recently announced online gameplay features and additional bonuses included in the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection. Before that, let me introduce the Mega Man Battle Network series.
The Mega Man Battle Network series takes place in a networked society where advanced networking technology connects and powers everything from home devices to urban infrastructure. This system is commonly referred to as the “cyberworld” and has become part of the daily lives of citizens of the networked society.
People carry around a personal terminal (PET), a mobile device with a sensory program called NetNavis. With PET and NetNavis, you can take advantage of many of the benefits the network has to offer through “jack-in”, the process of connecting your PET to various devices.
Advanced network technologies have improved the daily lives of millions of people around the world, but have also created new opportunities for cybercrime. Protagonist Ranko and his NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, must work together to solve the latest wave of cybercrime cases.
Battles begin when you encounter a sentient virus in the cyberworld. The player can freely move his MegaMan.EXE within his 3×3 grid in red, while enemies move around and attack in the blue areas. MegaMan.EXE can also use battle chips to its advantage when confronting hostile programs. Battle Chips have a variety of uses, such as restoring HP, damaging enemies in unique ways, and more. Take part in the action of the Battle Network and strategize when and how to use the various Battle Chips available.
The Battle Network Legacy Collection includes 10 classic games from Mega Man Battle Network to Mega Man Battle Network 6, including various versions of the series’ mainline games.
Let’s get started with the new online features. Players can enjoy one-on-one NetBattling and Battle Chip Trading with remote NetBattlers by connecting to the Internet. You can access online features from each game’s in-game submenu.
There are two types of online battle menus to choose from: “Practice”, where you can casually enjoy battles, and “Real”, where the winner steals battle chips from the loser’s backpack and fights. You can also choose a “triple battle” that decides the game in the best of three, or a “version battle” that follows the rules of the original.
“Private match” where you can enter the room code and play against friends who are far away.
In “Public Match”, you can also play a ranked match with a distant Net Battler.
The “Trade” menu allows you to trade Battle Chips, Styles, Programs, and Folders based on the original version of each game. You can choose Private Trade to trade with your friends, or Public Trade to trade with his NetBattlers around the world.

Don’t forget the download tip! Download Chips are special Battle Chips distributed in very limited ways, such as in-person events held in Japan. The Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection contains a total of 15 download chips.
Contains some very rare and unique chips.
Finally, let’s dive into custom PET packs. Custom PET packs are DLCs containing special skins and songs with special arrangements. Special skins change the appearance of 3D MegaMan.EXE to guide your Legacy collection. There are also four of his songs with special arrangements that you can play on your music player. Custom PET packs are available as pre-order benefits. Be sure to get it!
In Vol.1, Hub Style appears in 3D MegaMan.EXE, and two specially arranged songs are added to the music player.
in vol. 2, 3D MegaMan.EXE activates Dark MegaMan and adds two of his songs with special arrangements in the music player.
