Think back to December 2022. Microsoft call of duty Franchise to Nintendo platform. Well, that commitment is now legally binding, so I think it’s definitely happening (we think).
According to Microsoft Vice Chairman and President Brad Smith, Microsoft has negotiated with Nintendo and signed a binding 10-year legal agreement to bring Call of Duty to the Nintendo platform. According to the accompanying statement, the upcoming game will launch simultaneously on Nintendo and Xbox platforms, offering full functionality and content parity.
Of course, questions remain as to when this will launch and how the game will perform on Nintendo’s platform. The game doesn’t start making commitments until it either compromises heavily in terms of visuals on Switch, launches as a cloud version, or Nintendo launches its next major hardware (who knows when? ). or becomes).
I personally bet on the latter option. Because Phil Spencer previously said that support for new platforms wouldn’t start until: rear The Activision Blizzard acquisition has closed. As such, it may be some time before this commitment is realized.
Regardless, for Nintendo fans enjoying Call of Duty everywhere, the news is definitely welcome. We won’t say no to Captain Price and Soap McTavish, that’s for sure.
