MLB The Show 23 introduced a new gaming experience called Storyline that celebrates the rich history of the Negro League. For the development team, we couldn’t be happier with the overwhelmingly positive response to this passionate project for new gaming experiences. The story would not have been possible without the incredible partnership of the Nego League Baseball Museum and its chairman, Bob Kendrick.
A few weeks ago, plans were announced to build a brand new museum. The Negro League Baseball Museum is the only museum in the world dedicated to preserving and celebrating the rich history of African-American baseball and its impact on American social progress.
Partnerships with Major League Baseball, Players Association, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Negro League Baseball Museum.
From today through June 30th, you can purchase the Negro League Baseball Museum Charity Pack ($4.99 USD) exclusively in US digital platform stores where MLB The Show is on sale. PlayStation and San Diego Studio will donate 100% of the proceeds* from this pack, net of store platform fees, to the Negro League Baseball Museum.
Purchase the Negro League Baseball Museum Pack to receive 6,500 Stubs, 8 Sanford Green Storyline NLB Bat Skins, and 1 Banner for use at MLB The Show 23. Once earned, the item can be redeemed at game launch. Information about redeemed items should be in your profile email inbox. These products cannot be sold on the Marketplace.
This is in addition to the donations PlayStation and San Diego Studios make to the museum for each MLB The Show 23 Captain and Digital Deluxe Edition sold in the US through December 31, 2023. These donations help support the museum’s recently announced fundraising efforts. A campaign to build a new 30,000-square-foot Negro League Baseball Museum campus adjacent to the Buck O’Neill Education Center. The building is located within the former Kansas City Paseo YMCA, the historic building where Andrew “Rube” Foster founded his Negro league in 1920.
