What started as an indefinite delay turned into a short one-week wait, as MultiVersus Season 1’s start date has been confirmed for August 15th.
The official MultiVersus Twitter account announced the start date for Season 1, and also confirmed that the season’s first new character, Morty Smith from Rick and Morty, will debut eight days later on August 23.

MultiVersus Season 1 was originally scheduled to launch on August 8th, but the developers announced the delay a week before the set’s launch. No new date for the postponement was specified at the time, leaving both the game’s opening season and Morty at a loss.
Morty isn’t the only confirmed character in MultiVersus Season 1. His grandpa his Rick Sanchez is also set to join the roster in the game’s first season. No additional release dates for Rick have been announced.
The developer also shared a snapshot of what the first season of MultiVersus will add to the game. This includes online ranked lobbies, single-player his arcade mode, and more characters besides the already confirmed Rick and Morty.
MultiVersus is a platform fighting game featuring multiple characters from the Warner Bros. catalog, including Batman and Superman from DC Comics and Arya Stark from Game of Thrones. Free to download on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
