Frostpunk 2 developer 11 Bit Studios has announced that the game will be coming to PC in 2024, and has premiered a new trailer for its city-building sequel. Set 30 years after his original game, when humanity was nearly wiped out by a new Ice Age, one of the last strongholds on Earth has managed to survive the Great Freeze and a new Expansion Age has begun.
Like the first game and its expansion, Frostpunk 2 will focus on taming an ice-covered world. Extending beyond the boundaries of the City would require an enormous amount of oil to keep the fire going. People have changed, but the bonding instinct to survive has worn off, and some tough decisions must be made if you want to see your community grow and survive.
Frostpunk 2 hasn’t had too many updates since it was first announced in 2021 with a grisly CG trailer, but at the time, the game’s co-director Jakub Stokalski said 11 Bit Studios was simply You mentioned that you are aiming to create something more than a game. just a sequel. Having a larger team working on the sequel has allowed the studio to focus on delivering a larger, better-designed sequel, Stokkarski said.
“Our ambition is to make more than just a sequel,” Stokkarski said. “What we want to offer players is an experience that goes far beyond his original Frostpunk.”
The first Frostpunk game was a huge hit when it first launched on PC in 2018, selling 3 million units and making its way to consoles. The game received three of his DLC packs after launch, with the final expansion, On The Edge, released in August of 2020.
