Creative Assembly has released a new video detailing the long list of upcoming updates for Total War: Warhammer 3 (opens in new tab) As the studio gears up for the release of Chaos of Chaos tomorrow, (opens in new tab) DLC and Beta Access to Massive Immortal Empire (opens in new tab) motion. Titled “Patch Notes 2.0”, this video showcases all of the various additions and modifications to the base game for free.
First, this update introduces some new game mechanics to Warhammer 3. This includes ‘Gifts of Chaos’ which provide ‘God-given boosts’ to selected factions. These range from enhanced abilities for certain unit types to more passive bonuses like extra ammo for ranged units. There is also a new Settlement structure for your vassals and a Warband Recruitment that allows you to recruit mercenary units from across the realm.
The Realm of Chaos map has also received a major update, with four new provinces to conquer. The video points out that these characters themselves don’t participate in the race to claim his Ursun power, but they can also face off against the new Chaos of Chaos on the map.
In addition to these mechanical changes, Warhammer 3 also received some visual fixes. Options for capturing cities are now accompanied by faction-specific illustrations, and the war coordination interface has been refined. More broadly, we also expect his UI in the game to be tweaked to be more colorful and easier to read.
The second half of the video is devoted to minor tweaks and bug fixes, such as ensuring that combat reinforcement countdowns are always accurate and friendly outposts can be built outside of state capitals. There is one more notable announcement at the end of the video. For players with access to the Immortal Empires campaign (i.e. players who own all three Total War: Warhammer games), it says “all legacy battle content” from the previous games. Two games are ported to Warhammer 3.
While the number of updates mentioned in the video is huge, it does not represent a complete list of changes that will be made by upcoming patches. ‘ and provides a complete overview of how the game is being updated in preparation for Champions of Chaos and Immortal Empires.
On the subject of the Immortal Empire, Fraser recently took Warhammer 3’s mega-campaign by storm and went completely crazy (opens in new tab) It depends. “This has to be too big and unwieldy, and certainly very cumbersome and hard to wrap your head around,” he wrote in a beta preview, “but it’s all great.” Hurry up and add him 2 extra days in a week.
