Thanks to the support and feedback from PS5 Beta participants, today we are rolling out a new system software update to PS5 players worldwide. This update includes several highly requested features such as 1440p HDMI video output* and game list, plus the ability to request screen sharing from fellow party members, easily view new friends’ profiles, Includes social features such as the ability to receive notifications. Quickly join a friend’s game from party chat.
Plus, you can now compare 3D and stereo audio on the same screen and easily access ongoing activities from Game Hub. Check out our beta blog post to get the full scoop on these features and read more about some new and upcoming updates for PS5 and the PS app.
YouTube search with voice commands (preview)
Another feature we can bring to more PS5 players is the ability to search for content on YouTube via voice commands (Preview). Say “Hey PlayStation, find on youtube. ” Opens the YouTube app with relevant search results.
Note: Voice Commands (Preview) is currently available in English for PS5 players with accounts registered in the US and UK.
New PS app features
In addition to these PS5 console updates, we are rolling out several new PS App features globally later this month on iOS and Android.
Start a PS Remote Play session from the PS App
PS App users can start PS Remote Play sessions directly from the PS App on iOS and Android devices. First, make sure the PS app is linked to her PS5 console and the console is in rest mode.Then in the Game Hub of the PS app[PS リモート プレイを使用してプレイ]Select the icon and the PS Remote Play app will automatically launch the game. To enjoy this feature, please make sure both the PS App and PS Remote Play app are installed on your mobile or tablet device.
Request sharing screen
Similar to PS5 functionality, PS app users can request another party member playing on PS5 to initiate a screen sharing session and watch their friend’s gameplay from the app. This makes it even easier to stay connected with your friends on the go.
