It’s been known for some time that Sonic’s upcoming ‘open-world’ adventure, Sonic Frontier, is set to make some notable changes to Hedgehog’s combat system – boosts, jumps, and spins will be sky-high Only so far you can play against Bill-sized Guardians.. Luckily, the latest trailer (re-upload here ShayR synergy (after Sega dropped the first release) really shows Sonic’s new combat moves, with more boosts, jumps, and spins, and what appears to be more complex.
Just to be clear, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen Sonic testing these fists Previous trailers also showed him taking down enemies, but this is the first detailed look at his new power – and boy, is it detailed.
We knew skill trees were coming to Sonic Frontier, but the trailer above shows them in all their upgradeable glory. This seems to be a game where you start with a limited number of moves and unlock more by collecting “skill pieces” with the game’s groundbreaking name.
A ton of information has been published about how many combos the game can do, and each name sounds like it’s straight from a YA novel (‘Phantom Rush’, ‘Sonic Boom’, ‘Wild Rush’). In addition to all of this, the trailer provides an overview of abilities such as “Cyloop”, “Parry” and Guardian Hints.
We’re sure you’ll click through all of this as soon as you play the game, but it’s likely too much information for you to get your head around in three minutes of footage and explanations. We encourage you to check it out to learn more about all these new mechanics.
