We are excited to announce EA Sports NHL 23, which launches worldwide on October 14th for both PS4 and PS5. Today, we’re happy to share the first new gameplay details for this year’s entry, the game modes you can enjoy, and how we’re overhauling the presentation of the game to make it as realistic as possible to be on the ice. .

Anaheim Ducks center Trevor Zeglas is one of the NHL’s brightest young talents and is on the cover of NHL 23 alongside Canadian national team forward Sarah Nurse. Both NHL cover stars are breaking ground. Nurse is the first female player to appear on the official worldwide cover of an NHL game, and Zegras is one of the youngest players to ever make a cover. They’re two of hockey’s biggest stars and we’re thrilled to be on the cover this year.

Ultimate Team gets some great updates, including a rotating HUT Rivals playlist and three additional tiers of rewards based on wins and streaks. Build a dynasty with your franchise with even more ways to customize the league your team is trying to rule.
More stick options, more goal danger
From stumbling action to create last-minute shots out of thin air, to loose pack play that turns loose packs into highlight reel shots, every game situation gives you more chances to win glory. But the same applies to opponents. Enhanced Goalkeeper AI makes it even harder to get the puck into the net.
cross-platform matchmaking
An update coming later this year will officially bring cross-platform matchmaking to NHL 23 for the first time. Join your friends and take to the ice with players from around the world in Ultimate Team and World of Chel. Shorter queues and more players means more games and more competition!

Customize and choose to celebrate Stanley Cup wins, post-goal light shows, and all-new team animations. Get even closer to the real deal with on-ice predictions for varsity teams, NHL teams, and more. A new Crowd Engagement Score algorithm enhances the atmosphere with realistic crowds that react to everything happening on the ice.
