Following a bug found in the 1.2.1 update, Nintendo has taken the Nintendo Switch Sports servers offline while they work to fix the issue. This means that both online play and save data backups are currently suspended.
Nintendo shared an update twitter, This bug is reportedly causing the game to end on the pre-match loading screen for some players.
“A bug was discovered in the #NintendoSwitchSports Ver1.2.1 update that caused the software to exit on the pre-match loading screen,” Nintendo wrote. “Unfortunately, this is impacting both online and offline modes of play. As such, we have temporarily suspended the rollout of this update.
“While we investigate a solution, the #NintendoSwitchSports servers will be temporarily offline, during which online play will be unavailable. Save data backups will also be temporarily suspended. We apologize for any inconvenience. .”
We have no plans to fix it, but we will update this story as soon as we do.
A Nintendo Switch Sports review said, “It successfully recaptures the magic of Wii Sports’ party game, but it quickly falls victim to its lack of depth and fails to achieve greatness.”
Golf’s lack of depth is addressed this holiday when it arrives on Nintendo Switch Sports as a free update. This update was originally scheduled to arrive this fall, but has been delayed.
