Nintendo rolled out a second firmware update for 2023, bumping the hybrid system to version 16.0.1.
This latest update appears to be much less compared to the previous 16.0.0 update issued in February. 16.0.1 is a regular stability update that enhances the overall user experience. Here are the full patch notes, courtesy of Nintendo’s official support page.

– General system stability improvements to enhance user experience.
Luckily, thanks to Data Miner OatmealDome – who revealed that the ‘list of bad words’ was reorganized to ‘reduce false blocks’. Certain languages have apparently added/deleted various words. Another notable change has been made.
“Version 16.0.1 has been released. Official patch notes list ‘stability’ as the only change. Internally, the bad word list has been reorganized to reduce false blocks, and various words have been added/removed in several languages.
“The ‘BCAT’ system module has changed in some way, but I don’t know how. That being said, it’s probably a bugfix (or fix?) given that the diff report doesn’t show any major changes.
