The best of classic and new games for Switch in 2022.
It’s time again to reflect on this year and evoke the games that left a positive and lasting impression on all of us. . We know that a game’s status as a port of an older title often lowers its place in the final rankings, so splitting the two allows us to celebrate both the old and new titles at the same time. For a game to be in the Ports and Classic Collections category, the game’s first release had to be before 2022. Similarly, the first release had to take place within 2022 to be considered a new game. The first release didn’t have to be Switch, as long as both the original release and the Switch release took place in his 2022.
Nominations were collected from NWR staff (5 in each category) throughout December. The staff then met just before Christmas to determine the final list. The number of nominations a game received was taken into account, but game placement was not automatically determined. Rather, individual games were discussed on their merits.
