Octopath Traveler 2 introduces 8 new characters, but their occupations are the same as in the previous game, with some tweaks. If you don’t know who to start with or what each character and their main job are, let’s break it down.
new addition of Octopath Traveler 2 that is potentialsimilar to Final Fantasy’s famous Limit Break feature, a special ability that a character can use in battle when the gauge is full. Octopath Traveler 2 It also adds a day and night system, giving characters two pass actions instead of one.
pass action Non-combat skills that characters can use with NPCs. There is a lot of overlap between path actions. Mostly for knocking someone out, getting information, or getting an item from an NPC. However, the way the characters do it is different.
You can also add Side job In the future, these are the things you start and maintain. Sub jobs provide stats and skills, but they can’t do everything a character with that main job can do. and can fight for her, but characters with the Hunter side job cannot have that skill.
you may wonder Which character is best to start with, and the answer is: How you play is entirely up to you, and you can unlock all characters as soon as you start. You can’t remove them from your party until you complete their final chapterPassive skills, potentials, weapons and elements, pass actions, and general play styles should all be taken into consideration when choosing your starting character. Below, I’ll describe the eight characters and how useful (or not very useful) they are in the early game.
Ochette (Hunter)
Ochette can capture monsters and summon them to use in battle or turn them into items like jerky that restores HP. Her latent powers give her access to special skills that deal massive damage, hit multiple targets, and enhance her. She wields axes, bows, and electric magic.
During the day, Ochette provoke People go into battle, but at night she can to become friends Follow an NPC with your favorite item. These NPCs can be used in battle.
Should I start with Ochette?
Her animal companions can deal her with a wide range of attacks, but she relies heavily on having powerful monsters by her side. However, her debuff and shield break abilities are powerful. However, by sacrificing captured animals, she can provide many healing items.
She starts between two continents and gives quick and quick access to other characters.
Casti (pharmacist)
Castti combines items to deal elemental damage and apply status effects to enemies. She can also combine items to heal her party mates. Her latent powers allow her to concoct without using items, she uses her ax as a melee weapon and ice magic.
custard can inquiry During the day people want information, appease At night to put a person to sleep.
Should I start with Castti?
Castti’s Bread and Butter skill contains many ingredients to deal massive amounts of damage. Without them, she wouldn’t be great. However, the pharmacist has a cheap heal that doubles as a resurrection, which is very useful early in the game.
Castti is unlocked on the western continent, near Hikari, and south of Agnea and Partitio.
throne (thief)
Sloane is a sneaky thief with sticky hands because he can steal from his enemies. Her latent power allows her to perform her two actions in one turn. Sloane wields daggers, swords, and dark magic.
At night, strengthen the party at the start of battle.
During the day, Throné theft From an NPC; at night she can ambush Knock them out without a fight.
Should I start with Throne?
Full Disclosure: Started Octopath Traveler 2 with Sloane. Her ability to steal is very useful early on, as she can swipe items and equipment from people in town, helping her save (and earn) money. I have a lot of debuffs. Most importantly, don’t miss her night buff. It does (essentially) 3 turns of disgusting levels of damage at the start of each battle, making each boss easy. When combined with the
Throné is located in the eastern part of the continent, near Temenos and Osvald.
Osvald (Scholar)
Osvald is a master at casting area-of-effect spells. His high mana his cost has a reason. When he casts a fire spell, he hits all monsters in combat. His latent powers allow him to channel that energy into one target and hit that target very hard. He uses a staff as a weapon and uses fire, ice, and electric magic.
Osvald can scrutinize Informant during the day mug them for evening items. In combat, some enemy weaknesses can be revealed as soon as the battle begins.
Should I start with Osvald?
Osvald does a ton of damage, but is limited by his early mana pool. He doesn’t have much and his skills are expensive to use. However, he is good at killing many enemies at once. He’s also great at revealing weaknesses at the start of a fight, so you don’t have to spend a few turns guessing.
Osvald begins in the northern part of the eastern continent, near Sulone and Temenos.
Partio (Merchant)
Partio is a merchant of the west. In combat, he can use money to hire people to fight for himself. Due to his latent ability, he instantly recovers BP. He uses polearms and bows as weapons, and uses fire magic.
During the day, Partition is purchase Items from NPCs, and at night, he employment NPCs follow him. Similar to Ochette and Tenemos, these NPCs can be summoned into battle. His NPCs he hires also help him get discounts and other perks from the shop.
Should I start with Partitio?
Partitio is more of a support, but using the merchant’s Collect ability on weakened monsters, along with his money-boosting support skills, can help you make a lot of money fast. He can donate BP to party members, so he can also help supply the team with BP so they can continue to attack.
Partitio begins on the western continent in the northern region near Agnea.
Agnea (dancer)
Agnea specializes in enhancing team members, including NPCs that can be summoned for assistance. Her latent power spreads single-target buffs across the party. Agnea uses a dagger and wind magic.
Agnia can use her Allure The ability to obey townsfolk (and fight for her) during the day and plea Night item NPC.
Should I start with Agnea?
Agnea, like Partitio, is a supporting character, but still very useful. Her wooing ability allows her to kindly ask NPCs for items. This helps a lot in the early game. Her damage is lacking, but she can boost your team’s attack and take more turns in combat to get some more powerful hits.
Agnea begins in the northern part of the West Continent, near Partio.
Temenos (cleric)
Temenos casts holy magic and casts healing spells for the entire party. His latent power allows him to deplete an enemy’s shield points even if they are not vulnerable to his attack type.He uses a staff and holy magic.
Using Temenos at night will debuff enemies at the start of combat.
temenos can guide NPCs around during the day and coercion People at night to get information from them. To successfully force them, you’ll need to fight them and break their shields in combat.
Tenemos guided NPCs can also be summoned into battle to aid in combat.
Should I start with Temenos?
Temenos’ healing for the entire party is helpful, and his holy magic deals tons of damage. His latent ability ensures that he can break shields, making him a boss destroyer. Pair him with Slone (who’s nearby!) to really destroy your opponents on the opening turn of the night.
Temenos is on the eastern continent below Osvald and above Sulone.
Hikari (Warrior)
Hikari is a warrior prince who fights for his kingdom. His latent power allows him to unleash extremely powerful attacks. He uses a sword and a polearm. Hikari doesn’t use magic by nature.
Hikari in the daytime challenge NPCs knock them out and learn new combat abilities from them.at night he can bribe people seeking information.
Why not start with Hikari?
Hikari is a traditional JRPG warrior. He deals massive damage and can defend allies by provoking enemies. He is a trusty tanky boy who can cook. His lack of magic makes him difficult to start with, as he only sports two methods (sword and polearm) to break shields early.
The light originates in the southern part of the western continent, near Casti, below Agnea and Partio.
