Okinawa is a well-known name in the electric two-wheeler market in India. Well, while the brand manages to record big numbers in sales tallies, it’s moving away from the premium electric scooter space. With the introduction of its newest and stickiest scooter, the Okinawa Oki-90, the company is eyeing a new segment of the market that currently houses products such as the Ather 450X, Ola S1 and TVS iQube. But the question the public needs answers to is whether the Oki-90 electric scooter is worth his Rs 1,121,000 price tag. Interestingly enough, Okinawa makes some big claims about the newest kid on the block, so let’s find out the same in this review.
Okinawa Off-90 Review – Design
The Okinawa-Oki-90 is a very distinctive looking scooter and one of the main reasons for that is the 16 inch aluminum alloy wheels. Yes, it is the largest electric scooter ever seen on the Indian market. The front is equipped with slim LED turn signals and a pair of LED DRLs. Added to that are the circular LED headlamps. And these elements make the scooter look smart.
Moving to the side, you get slim side panels and tastefully designed footrests. The rear all-LED tail lamps make Okinawa stand out from the crowd. However, the level of fit and finish could be improved to increase durability and extend the life of the scooter.
Okinawa Off-90 Review – Features
Okinawa off-90 is full. The electric scooter has a key fob that allows you to lock and unlock the scooter with the push of a button. The feature list doesn’t stop there. The Okhi-90 offers an all digital instrument console.
The cluster is configurable and can be upgraded to an IoT-ready multi-color LCD. This setting allows you to track vehicle statistics and their location. Apart from that, the mobile application also allows you to geofence your scooter.
Okinawa Off-90 Review – Performance
The Okinawa Oki-90 with a 3.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack powering a 3.8 kW motor has quite a few on board. Also, both of these devices are centrally located. Coupled with the 1,520 mm wheelbase, this scooter certainly feels planted. Thanks to the low center of gravity. Therefore, changing lanes or negotiating in heavy traffic is not a hassle at all. Considering his 16-inch wheels with 100-section tires in the front and 120-section tires in the rear, grip and confidence are never lacking.
Speaking of suspension, the front is equipped with a telescopic fork that opens to the right, and the rear is equipped with a twin shock absorber. The setup is tuned on the stiffer side and we wish there was a little more compression and damping on offer. Because of that, the brakes are also excellent and work together to avoid heart-to-mouth moments.

The motor is a very strong aspect of the OKI-90 and the scooter has two riding modes, Eco and Sport. In Sport mode, this scooter can achieve northward speeds of 80 km/h, while in Eco mode the speed is severely limited to a range of 40 km/h. Throttle on/off switching is also great. Well, Okinawa claims 160km in eco mode, whereas in sport mode it will achieve around 100km.
Off Okinawa-90 Review – Verdict
Rupee price. At Rs 1.21 lakh, the OKI-90 is a very affordable product, on par with its competitors given its claimed range of 160 km. That said, the fit and finish level could have been better, but the scooter has a lot to offer. I’m here. That said, if you want an electric scooter with plenty of road presence, features, and performance, the Okinawa Oki-90 certainly fits your bill. You have to miss the feel and finish level.
