We heard back in June that Red Art Games’ upcoming release, OmegaBot, was coming to Switch in September (just like every other game in the world!). However, today the studio reached out that the game has been delayed to release on January 20, 2023.
In a statement, Red Art Games said the reason for the delay was to ensure OmegaBot was released in the most polished state possible. The studio also quickly added that the game will receive a physical Switch release as well as a digital release, so expect nice cover art to match the game’s signature colorful aesthetic.
For the official statement, please read the following excerpt containing the delayed decision.
Red Art Games has decided to postpone the console release of OmegaBot. These extra months give the Red Art Studios team plenty of time to polish the console version of the game.
Red Art Games will release OmegaBot digitally on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and Xbox One on January 20, 2023 and physically on Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PS4. On Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store, the game costs €9.99. /$9.99. More information about OmegaBot’s console release coming soon.
A delay of this length isn’t a decision the studio wants to be forced into, but one look at the latest OmegaBot trailer below shows that this is a project that needs to run smoothly to ensure its success. It shows that

Going back to early 2023, I can’t help but feel a little upset that I can’t play OmegaBot right away, but hopefully this dated reboot will make the finished product even more polished. It means that
