Let’s get started: Persona 5 wouldn’t be a success story without a PS4. A ton of character costumes and new personas add a little spice to your progression, even if you’ve never branched out on PS4. The added content isn’t worth the price of (re)admission, but this port actually does something right.
The PS5 version has its own trophy list (same as the PS4), but there’s no way to transfer save data, so there’s no way to simply pop all the trophies you’ve won last time around. Not only is the player being asked to pay for the game again, but he is being asked to start his 120-hour adventure all over again with a very comprehensive New Game+ option. It’s a little piss.
But for all that Sega and Atlus bullishness, Persona 5 Royal extraordinary RPGs. Playing it again cemented our opinion that he’s one of the best ever, even years after his original release.
