For the past three months, we’ve been beta testing PlayStation Tournaments on PS5, our next-generation competitive experience on consoles.
The new experience features shorter tournament times, seamless sign-up on consoles, easy-to-find tournaments, an all-new UI, real-time match updates, and other improvements that address common barriers to online competitive play. streamlines competitive play.
Today we are excited to roll out our first official PlayStation tournament for PS5. This includes Guilty Gear -Strive, NBA 2K23, and FIFA 23*. You can now play and compete for prizes in various special events, challenges and leaderboards. Contests and more, along with his global PS5 community.
Kick off with a special launch program
From December 1st to January 31st, you can enter PlayStation Tournaments: Win-A-Thon on both PS5 and PS4 consoles. Lots of exciting prizes including cash, PS5 consoles, new DualSense Edge wireless controllers and more.
Win-A-Thon is a leaderboard competition that allows you to compete in PlayStation tournaments and win to increase your overall ranking.
Win-A-Thon qualifying tournaments will count towards your overall rankings on the regional leaderboards. When the results are tallied at the end of January, all players with the most points will win great prizes.
The best PS5 players can take home accessories like the new DualSense Edge wireless controller and Pulse 3D wireless headset, while PS4 owners can win a PS5 console.

What’s New in PlayStation Tournaments on PS5
Thanks to community feedback, we’ve introduced several new features that make joining PS5 tournaments faster and easier.
Simple detection process: Tournaments are easy to find. Scroll to the relevant game on the PS5 home screen and press the down arrow button to see a list of upcoming tournaments. Or tap the PS button while playing a supported game to launch Control Center and view available tournaments.
Sign up on console: Signing up is faster than ever. From Control Center or Game Hub, select an available tournament and[登録]Enter the contest with the push of a button.
bracket capping: Tournament lengths traditionally increase as more players compete. However, we have introduced a new bracket capping feature to ensure standard duration across all tournaments. If the cap is exceeded, multiple brackets will be created for the same tournament, but the prizes will remain the same for each.
Other tournaments: Everyone has their own schedule. Tournaments are more frequent and regular, so more players can find time to compete.
All-new UI: The all-new Tournament UI leverages the activity card framework to make it easy to view tournament information. Notifications will automatically advance your experience and alert you when the next match starts. Tournaments can be launched from notifications, so you can train in-game or play other titles between matches.
View automatic and real-time results: Once registered for a tournament, all relevant details can be accessed from the corresponding activity card in the Control Center.
Results are automatically displayed and reported as the match progresses.
You can also check your full tournament bracket status on the tournament card at any time.

Introducing the new Discord community hub
PlayStation Tournaments on PS5 coincides with the launch of the new PlayStation Tournaments Discord server. Players can connect here to engage more deeply with PlayStation’s competitive community.
