Rise, wake up, slay the dragon
At the Capcom Showcase, we took a deep dive into Dragon’s Dogma 2, which was announced in a big way on the PlayStation Showcase just a few weeks ago. The game’s director, Hideaki Itsuno, has explained some of the game’s core elements and revealed a little bit about how the sequel is adding value to his PlayStation 5.
Central to Dragon’s Dogma are two key features. Pawn system and best-in-class action RPG combat. A pawn is an AI-controlled companion who joins you in your adventure. He carries around a main pawn that he can customize to his heart’s content and two other pawns that he can hire from other players. With a party of up to 4 people, you can enjoy adventures while enjoying friendship with your friends.
All actions in Dragon’s Dogma 2 are choices. Whether you wield swords, bows, or magic is all up to you. The profession he chooses determines how Arisen plays in combat, and the options are wide-ranging. Choices are also an important part of combat scenarios. You’ll always be asked to handle situations in your own way, whether it’s watching what happens when you destroy a bridge or tugging at a monster to make it fall over.
“Dragon’s Dogma 2” utilizes Capcom’s RE engine to create a densely populated world that is about four times the size of the original, and weaves the latest graphics, physics, and character AI to create a fantasy world. You can immerse yourself in the world.
Two key characters in the key art play an important role in Arisen’s journey. Uirika, an archerwoman with a deep connection to Arisen, and Nadinia, the new lycanthropic High Priestess, influence Arisen’s destiny and help shape their destinies.
