1 year after renewal PS Plus Since its introduction, players have continued to be locked out of the game due to licensing issues. Previously he claimed the game via PS Plus (now Essential) and an unsuspecting subscriber who redeemed it again via PS Plus Extra or Premium would end up overwriting the Essential license. Doing so means losing the game permanently if the game in question is removed from the Extra/Premium catalog.
Locked PS Plus games still not fixed
We first brought up this issue last November when we noticed that access to Greedfall was revoked for some players when they exited PS Plus Extra. This game was originally offered as part of the 2020 service.
It was later discovered that someone who used Greedfall via PS Plus Extra had deactivated the game’s previous license and asked Sony for help, to no avail. The only way players could keep playing the game was to buy it.
Rediter The latest game to suffer the same fate is reportedly Mafia 3, which originally came as part of PS Plus in 2018. This case is particularly egregious, as the original Mafia 3 license was revoked for a player who claimed the Mafia Trilogy via PS Plus Extra. In other words, if he wants to play all three games, he might pay the price of losing one full-fledged game forever.
Essential games will continue to be available as long as your PS Plus membership is active. Extra and Premium catalogs are temporary. There is no solution other than avoiding recharges for previously redeemed games to resolve the aforementioned issues.
