Blizzard is allowing Diablo fans to preload the open beta of Diablo IV, which is set to run for three days this weekend. The preload is 84 GB, or 42 GB without the high resolution texture pack.
To celebrate the Open Beta, Blizzard has unveiled World Bosses. The company explained in the same paper PS Blog World Bosses are filled with new and challenging monsters designed to challenge multiple Diablo players regardless of class or playstyle. The first world Blizzard introduced her boss is her named Ashava, a gruesome monster with razor-sharp claws that extend from her wrists.

To refresh our memory of who Ashava is, we introduce Candace Thomas, Senior Encounter Designer for Diablo IV. We talked about her at BlizzCon in 2019She describes Ashava as an ever-present threat to Sanctuary, which could soon appear anywhere in the world, saying, “Lilith is watching and that nowhere is safe from the gates of Hell.” He states that he will always act as a reminder.
“But for us as developers, I think she’s kind of a monument to Diablo IV as a game,” Thomas added at the time. “She’s this giant monster, but she needs more than you to defeat. She’s just a giant killing machine, so people have to band together in all areas to defeat her.” “
Ashava spawns 4 times per weekend. The Diablo IV Open Beta begins on Friday, March 17th at 9am PT and ends on Sunday, March 19th at 12pm PT.
Diablo IV will be released on June 6th, 2023.
