This week saw the launch of Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion, a remake of Square Enix’s 2007 PSP title.
We thought the game was pretty good, scoring an 8/10 in our review, praising the thrilling combat and solid visuals. It seems to have left a nasty (albeit hilarious) development oversight.
as discovered by Kotakuthe paintings seen in some places in the game are Getty Images As evidenced by the rather gaudy watermark left on the painting itself.
The original image was obtained from Kotaku and can be viewed on the Getty Images website. Ludgate Circus, London, 1881.Artist: John CrowtherGiven that the watermark is in the exact same spot, it’s clear that this is the exact image used in Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII – Reunion.
It’s definitely a lot of fun, but it’s also a problem for developers to let this go. Because it not only detracts from the immersion for anyone who happens to find it, but it also indicates that the artist in charge likely took the image without actually paying for the associated license. is likely to be patched since it’s out in the wild.
