It’s still strange to think that Razer, a brand known for its PC gaming peripherals, has only released its first wireless gaming keyboard in 2020. (opens in new tab)I haven’t seen a ton of wireless keyboards from Razer since, but there was the excellent 65% Razer BlackWidow V3 Mini Hyperspeed. (opens in new tab)and a very good productivity suite board (opens in new tab)But there wasn’t much for full-size gaming keyboard fans.
Razer has announced its latest wireless gaming keyboard. BlackWidow V4 Pro (opens in new tab)From the looks of it, this board is set to inherit many of the features we’ve come to love from previous Razer keyboards. (opens in new tab), but there’s also something we didn’t really like. it’s the price. With a retail price of $230 for him or $400 for him, this beast doesn’t come cheap.
To be fair, it looks like a very feature-complete kit, especially for fans of Razer’s aesthetic. complemented. Full customization requires using Razer’s Synapse software, but it’s the centerpiece of any desktop.
The BlackWidow V4 also looks great on the front of the keys and switches. Depending on your style, you can choose between Razer’s mechanical clicky green switches or quiet yellow switches. For even more customization, there are five dedicated macros, three on the side, and a new knob called the Razer Command Dial.
I’m going to say it I love Nobu.upon keyboardThe tactile, twisted dial is a pretty big selling point for me, and I can’t get enough of boards with them. It has 8 default modes for performing everyday tasks like zooming and switching tabs, and you can customize up to 100 by yourself. This means it can be used to scroll through documents, adjust media, and for those who want to use an art program, adjust brush size and more.
Speaking of media adjustments, there’s a dedicated media roller above the number pad and four buttons for additional controls. I like to set up just the media with the keyboard. It’s nice to be able to change these settings without having to go into individual apps.
The last feature I really like is the USB 2.0 passthrough. Granted, this is only his 2.0, but the keyboard’s USB passthrough is always welcome. It’s much more convenient to be able to plug something temporary through the keyboard than it is to find a port on the computer itself.
This board packs a lot of features, but it’s all in the price. After all, there are some great budget gaming keyboards out there (opens in new tab) there. The Razer BlackWidow V4 Pro is a much better wireless board for your PC gaming setup, and the price is just as compelling.
