Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin Open Beta
Between open beta, Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz will be able to join the game’s online, cross-platform multiplayer against other players or AI. You act as the commander of your faction and must “participate in a brutal tug-of-war for control of the map” by gathering resources, summoning additional armies, earning victory points, and more. You can Sounds exactly like “Dawn of War” to us, and that’s not a bad thing.
This beta also gives you the opportunity to try Frontier’s DirectStep control scheme. The scheme is designed to provide “rapid move orders, immediate cycling between squads, and flexible command of the battlefield at the controller.” Plus, you can play with a mouse and keyboard on your Xbox if you prefer.
The second Open Beta is set to arrive later this summer, so you may have a chance to check out the other two factions then (neither has been revealed yet). When Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin launches on Xbox Series X|S later this year, it will feature a “cinematic single-player campaign” and competitive 1v1 and 2v2 multiplayer modes. It will be provided.
