Red Bull Capture Point 2022 has come to an end. It was a great competition! PlayStation has once again partnered with Red Bull for the second edition of this best-in-class virtual photo contest, receiving incredible shots from around the world. Now, eight of the best photographers have been determined and taken to a once-in-a-lifetime photography experience in New York City – read on to find out how to join them to see award-winning photos in one night. If you missed Red Bull Capture Point, we’ll keep you updated. Running from September 5th to October 30th, the competition will see up-and-coming virtual photographers create beautiful and awe-inspiring images of Horizon Forbidden West and Gran Turismo 7 on either PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5. I was tasked with capturing the moment. *
The competition was divided into four rounds, with portraits, landscapes, opportunities to showcase technical prowess, and a final open category for all participants. The winner of each round was then moved to the Best of Show, where he was judged by the four winning entries side by side to determine one overall winner.
Eight countries participated in the competition: Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, France, Netherlands, UK and USA, and the best virtual photographer was selected by a panel of judges led by Head Judge Mick Bromley. Mik, owner of TheFourthFocus.com, his website dedicated to the contemporary artistic medium of virtual photography, is a UK-based capture his artist and web writer, 2021 I’ve been with Capture Point since it debuted in the US on . “This year’s Capture Point winners from around the world showcased their talents by skillfully using the Photo Mode feature,” says Mik Bromley. “The careful composition, real depth of field, and mastery of available light allowed them to take advantage of the in-game elements to create beautifully detailed and stylish photo shots.”
The virtual photographer who captured these amazing photos will be flown to New York City where they will have the chance to recreate some of these shots in real life and take professional photography lessons. can see works presented in a gallery setting while rubbing shoulders with industry professionals.
All winning photos from Red Bull Capture Point (both the Best in Show entries and the winners of each country’s individual category) can be viewed on Red Bull’s official Red Bull Capture Point event page.
