Now that the Japanese version of the Wonderful Life remake is out, we finally have an answer to the question, “What’s on the hill?”

It’s nothing. Or worse, just skip 6 hours. that’s it.
YouTuber Josh’s Gaming Garden played the game in Japanese and translated it for his audience. That doesn’t mean it’s going to be a dead end forever—he might have DLC one day—but for now, the answer to the 20-year-old mystery is as disappointing as Lost’s ending.

For those of us who didn’t have Link cables or Game Boy Advances, the GameCube era sometimes felt like we were locked out of the content boasted by wealthy kids on the playground.Wind Waker’s Tingle Tuner, Harry Potter From Crash Bandicoot to new content and secrets in the game, there was an all-new town in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life.
Back on the GameCube, Wonderful Life had a trail up a hill near the farm, but it went nowhere. Trying to make your way up leads to a cutscene where Harvest Sprites stops you by saying that you can find out “what’s going on” by linking with Friends of Mineral Town on the Game Boy Advance. copy of the game.
By combining copies of Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town and A Wonderful Life, you can open Mineral Town to those living in the Forget-Me-Not Valley. Sure, players couldn’t get there yet — harvest sprites still stop you. it was allowed to leave. Sure it’s a bit overwhelming…but for those who haven’t had the chance to find it out for themselves, it felt like being stopped by a bouncer outside a club where cool stuff sits. Might be so is happening.
Fan translation of the official Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life stream showed off an hour of playtime in Japanese. Josh’s Gaming Garden has the scoop (starting at 6:46):
When Daiki Yamashita heads to the trail, a dialogue appears saying it will take 6 hours to get there. This suggests that it will take him most of the day to travel to this town, but it is possible. Unfortunately, Yamashita does. No Choose the option to go to town. I don’t have all the answers yet.
