A Resident Evil Village VR mode was previously announced for June 2022. Today, we are happy to announce that this additional mode will be released as a free DLC for Resident Evil Village on February 22nd, 2023. Once you have a PlayStation VR2, you can download and play instantly.
The entire Village main story is now playable in Resident Evil Village VR mode on PlayStation VR2, providing the most immersive experience of all the events Ethan Winters faces as he sets out to rescue his kidnapped daughter. I can do it.
This DLC allows you to fully immerse yourself in Resident Evil Village using PlayStation VR2. Visually, the vibrant graphics and eye tracking on the 4K HDR display (2000 x 2040 per eye) make everything feel as if it’s actually there. 3D audio enhances realism with audio from all angles, and haptics are enhanced via the PlayStation VR2 Sense controller. With one controller in each hand, you can feel vibrations, recoil, and resistance as you manipulate objects in the world and fire weapons.
The Sense controller also allows for intuitive movements like raising your arm to guard or sticking your gun forward to fire, and there are additional actions you can perform to increase immersion. Hold two separate weapons, load the clip into the handgun to reload, and use the knife for slashing or stabbing attacks. A truly captivating experience that pulls you directly into the twisted world in which Ethan Winters is fighting.
