Forklift Extreme is a simulation of driving a forklift. I have played a simulation game where you control heavy equipment, but none have been successful. Now let’s see if Forklift Extreme comes out at the top.
The game is simple. Since there is no story element, it defines “coldness”. The game isn’t too difficult in that respect unless the puzzles get you stuck. Controls may stumble you.
Controlling the Forklift Extreme is easy enough to learn and get used to. This game uses realistic physics and feels good. L and R allow you to accelerate, back up, and maneuver with an analog stick. Y and A lift the mast up and down to lift the object. You can also change the camera view from third-person mode to first-person mode, or view the course from a bird’s-eye view.
The control of the forklift wasn’t too bad, it was the physics I needed to get used to. Of course, there are many tight corners on the course, but that’s the point. To be honest, I was about to tilt the forklift a few times. I even tried to flip it over to see what would happen, but no matter how hard I tried, the forklift would always get back on track.
Forklift Extreme offers 5 gameplay modes. The first two are already unlocked, but the first is training that includes a tutorial (thankfully, don’t struggle) and a fun mini-challenge. Examples include operational training, palette movements, and time-limited challenges.
I played training mode first because it was another way to practice control and get used to physics. When it was completed, I moved to carrier mode. This is where the “real” game begins. There are only five levels in Career mode when navigating through the warehouse and picking up pallets and moving them to where they need to be moved.
And that’s the whole game. After completing your training and career, you will gain experience points and unlock the next mode. So play it and then open the mode. It’s a short and sweet game that you can easily pick up.
The controls were as smooth as those based on the physics of the game, and the graphics were crisp. The music was fun, but it’s the same song throughout. I watched TV while playing games and had something else in the background.
You can customize your character and the forklift you drive, it’s fun. But if you beat all the modes, there’s nothing else in the game. Therefore, there is no reproducibility value. Still, if you’re looking for a simple puzzle that doesn’t take too long, but is still a bit busy, try Forklift Extreme.
