As if spiders weren’t scary enough, this game gives them guns and lightsabers!
SipderHeck is a fast-paced brawler where you fight as and against spiders in a physics-based environment. Wield your web (and sword) to evade enemy fire and avoid instant death by falling out of range.
SpiderHeck can be played as PvP or PvE. This allows you to have consistent fun against friends, random opponents on the internet, or the computer. All are just as delightfully chaotic as one another. As you play alone against the computer, you’re tasked with becoming enemy number one and defeating waves of kitted spiders complete with knives, lightsabers, and sometimes rocket launchers!
The best thing about SpiderHeck is its ability to jump into battle, which rarely lasts for an inordinate amount of time. The gameplay itself is fast, and you can customize the number of rounds or the total points you reach. The default is 10 points from the beginning. There’s also endless offline horde modes for those who want to be ‘SpiderHecking’ for hours on end.
As soon as anyone enters SpiderHeck, they’ll seamlessly move around like a spider sassin, gunning and slicing through enemies. However, the first tutorial is great, and those who are lucky enough to play it (my fiancée) have an advantage over their opponents. After being down 4 points, we finally learned how to pick up and use our weapons and the match ended 6-10! Picking up the controls naturally and then combining some average combos (get it?) like swinging perfectly around a floating rock to snipe a spider on the other side of the stage , incredibly satisfied!
Plus, once you get used to the ultra-smooth gameplay, the visuals are taken to a whole new level. The minimal (well, black) background makes the spiders, weapons, and platforms stand out and really shine. The sharp neon colors from the guns and lightsabers are spectacular, especially when the two sabers collide. This is the real Luke his Skywalker vs. Darth his Vader situation, but similar to the spider case. Another thing that always excites me if the game visuals are perfectly suited for his OLED Switch handheld gaming and this is definitely that he is one. These colors show up right on the handheld, and given the game’s simple design and approach, they’re perfect for handheld goodness. can be built to fight others.
One area that is fun but gets boring quickly is the main menu. Don’t get me wrong, it’s unique and actually a great way to learn the controls and practice a bit. Having a stage with a can be a bit of a hassle if you just want to dive in.
