Skyrim Extended Cut is a mod in progress, aimed at remixing Skyrim’s main questline. Promised inclusion (opens in new tab) “Expanded third act, Dragonborn DLC main quest integrated with Skyrim’s main quest, more characterizations for Alduin and Miraak, more Thalmor involvement, Blades faction overhaul, more things to do in Blackreach. , mainly the new core cast, player agencies, guilds, and the impact of subquest clearing on the main quest. This is meant to make Skyrim’s actual central storyline worth engaging with. It’s a whole dragon and scream that many players ignore in favor of side quests.
As work continues on Extended Cut, another sub-team released an example of what you can expect from it. Instead of the main quest, he focuses on one of the Creation Club addons bundled with Skyrim. Anniversary Edition, Saints & Seducers. The biggest piece in terms of stuff, adding quests, creatures, weapons, armor and tilesets, all referencing the much-loved Oblivion expansion, The Shivering Isles.
Like most of Creation Club’s additions, Saints & Seducers involved suddenly shy NPCs, communicating via letters and books, so no new dialogue needed to be recorded. To start the quest, I had to track him down, one of the Khajiit merchants traveling between Whiterun and Markarth. After enough scenes like that were repeated, Anniversary Edition stopped feeling worth breaking half of his mods to install.

Here’s what made me wonder about the Extended Cut project. A handful of mods like The Forgotten City ship with high-quality voice acting, but many others have uneven recording quality, characters that sound jarringly modern, and they’re just like themselves. I suffer from a general sense of out-of-place that prevents me from feeling belonging to Skyrim.
(almost) all Elder Scrolls
Thankfully, that’s one of the places Saints & Seducers Extended Cut is at its best, and it sounds like it’s home to multiple chatty characters. Even the voice actor playing the crazed Sheogorath (the shopkeeper who is an anagram of Lord Sheogorath) nails the character’s abrupt pitch shifts and drifts between Scottish and Irish accents. It’s like a slice of The Shivering Isles when you look back at it, all with giant mushrooms and glowing puff balls.
It really shows the potential of a mature mod scene. As well as incorporating the Creation Club addon (installing the mod gives you the option to move other Creations like the magical weapon Shadowrend into The Asylum as part of a side quest), Saints & Seducers Extended is an extension of the existing mod. is built upon. Revives the monsters of the Shivering Isles. Grammite (opens in new tab) When flesh spirit (opens in new tab)comes from the Mihail Monsters and Animals mods, while Sheogorath’s bust comes from a mod that is part of a series to add Daedric Shrine (opens in new tab) Skyrim and some other assets are borrowed with permission from existing works.
This gave me confidence in what I could achieve with the full version of Extended Cut. Although an ambitious project, its subject matter is at the heart of his Skyrim, part of a game that has already been rebuilt in piecemeal fashion by many other mods. Where Saints & Seducers Extended finds room to be appropriately called wacky existing mods marlin the corgi (opens in new tab) (A magical dog squire that can be recruited if you have both mods installed), the full Skyrim Extended Cut can borrow years of overlapping mods to help.of trailer (opens in new tab) Already made a cameo for popular mod followers Lucian (opens in new tab)and apparently care has been taken not to contradict the expansion of the world beyond skyrim (opens in new tab).
I spent a good few hours playing this sequel to one of the best expansions Bethesda has ever made. Perfect for a sort of vanilla-plus playthrough where you improve an existing one to your liking instead of completely modifying Skyrim to make it look like an anime or play like Dark Souls etc. is.
One of the downsides of Saints & Seducers Extended is that it recommends starting a new game before trying it for stability. (Even then, I had to reload my save to fight the final boss when an NPC I needed to speak to fell off the floor.) Also, a player character of at least level 20 and Solitude’s Mind of Madness Completed a subquest.
We recommend using an alternative starting mod such as Skyrim Unbound Reborn (opens in new tab) Also live another life (opens in new tab) Skip the tutorial and set Solitude as your starting location, then use Skyrim’s console commands to level up. You can improve your skill with player.advlevel [skill] [#]where skill is the name of the skill (but the console seems to be based on an early build, so archery is called Marksman and speech is called Speechcraft) and # is the experience you want to add is the amount of For example, player.advlevel speech 9999 should give you enough speechcraft to pass Mind of Madness. If you want to tweak it, use the console command incpcs [skill] Increases the selected skill one level at a time.
