Shin Megami Tensei developer Shinjiro Takada, production manager for both SMT V and SMT 3 Nocturne’s HD remaster, teased that Atlus will give fans a special “thank you” in 2023. Takada told the readers of the Japanese magazine Famitsu that the SMT series will celebrate its 30th anniversary in October 2022, and he would like to give something back for the 31st anniversary.
What is this Shin Megami Tensei “thank you”?
In a statement to famitsu (According to the translator Sotomatsu), reaching out to over 140 Japanese developers about what to expect in 2023, Takada said:
“Shin Megami Tensei V” has sold over 1 million units worldwide and is attracting a lot of attention both in Japan and overseas. In 2023, when we celebrate our 31st anniversary, we hope to be able to repay our fans.
What exactly this special Shin Megami Tensei announcement is is a mystery, but we have some clues. is not. Shin Megami Tensei V is still only available on Nintendo Switch, so there’s a chance the game will be ported to PS5 and other platforms in October 2023 (as it marks the series’ 31st anniversary). If so, it should come with a sizable framerate and graphics update, and perhaps some additional DLC as well.
