Most recently, he’s been working on The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo, and his Hi-Fi Rush exclusive for Xbox, the latter of which will continue to receive support from the studio after his departure.

Mikami’s future plans have not been disclosed, but Bethesda “wishes Mikami the best of luck in his future”. It is believed to take the opportunity to retire with high marks. He’s hinted in previous interviews that he’s grown past the peak of game development and feels the process has become more difficult in his 40s. Mikami is currently 57 years old.
