Jeremy Blaustein, who translated Silent Hill 2’s script into English and oversaw the motion capture and narration production, announced the remake. twitter (opens in new tab)“Cool!” he wrote. “And they again used SH2’s English script that I wrote/translated (oh, I also directed) completely by themselves and I got zero compensation for it and what they resent for what I said. game radar (opens in new tab) Blaustein has been contacted for additional comment. “Regardless of what my official credits said, my obligation to the original was:” he replied. “I translated every word of the Silent Hill 2 game. I directed the narration work.Everything.I arranged the auditions, guided them and decided which actors to go with.None of the Japanese staff had a good command of English. I was unable to judge the actors because of the motion capture session.
“Collaborated with [Silent Hill] with the team [scenario writer Hiroyuki Owaku] Blaustein continued, “Especially every day while translating.” It proves the importance of the script I wrote. ”
Blaustein told GamesRadar that he doesn’t seek further financial compensation for his work, but “feels strongly that it is right to give him proper credit for his role.” In the 2012 Silent Hill HD Collection (which he also translated), which includes both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, Blaustein’s name was only listed under “Konami Special Thanks”. . credit (opens in new tab).
One thing that’s changed in the Silent Hill 2 remake is the combat, which Bloober Team says they’re “rebuilding” along with “certain set pieces”. It has been replaced with a Person Camera. No release date has been announced, but the remake has a Steam page and some stringent system requirements.
