Fans remake the 2003 cult classic The Simpsons: Hit & Run Unreal Engine 5 adds a huge number of details for 2022, including open world maps, better vehicles, and online multiplayer.
First reported EurogamerOver 1 million viewers I watched a 17 minute YouTube video Of an impressive project. The project is for “entertainment purposes” and begins with a “cannot be downloaded” disclaimer. So you can’t play the project, but it still doesn’t make watching the video so attractive.
Reuben Ward details the changes and pure efforts made to this remake project. Import parts of the map to create an open world and add leaf and lighting effects to make your visuals pop. He used Unreal Engine 5 and Blender, a dialog tool of his own design called “Narrative Quest and Dialog Editor”.
Much of the joy of watching a video is to see how certain small adjustments can make a difference in the modernization of the appearance of the game. Ward explains how creating specific shaders for windows can make everything from neighborhood homes to skyscrapers look good. “With just a little work, you can get great results,” Ward said in a video.
The project begins eight months after Ward first became viral to “recreate” a cult classic game in a week. Joe McGinn, the lead designer of the 19-year-old game, also commented on his first project. “What you have achieved is amazing!” He said. “You can really taste what a complete modern remaster is.”
