In a tremendous triumph of dedication and nostalgia, a talented group of modders have already gone ahead and created Mario Kart Wii versions of all of Mario Kart 8’s Booster Course Path Wave 2 stages.
FYI, this batch of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC was released 24 hours before the video was released…and although many of these tracks were likely made a while ago, Sky High Sundae is a brand new course and was first released during this round of DLC. Again, crazy props to modders who allow this kind of feat.
If you’re not a Switch Online member, don’t have the money to spend on DLC, or are the only person on the planet who doesn’t own Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, you can play these courses. With the similarly accessible Mario Kart Wii, at least variations of them.
Check out the video below from 64iOS, who are compiling mod videos of this kind on YouTube, to see their remake of all eight of the glorious Mario Kart 8 Wave 2 tracks from the late 2000s.
Check out his follow-up video for the full Sky High Sundae experience. In this video, he successfully laps the course for three laps, complete with paper his Mario on a rocket. Because there are no rules, we make our own destiny.
