A Sony executive has admitted to reading PS Plus criticisms over on the PS Blog, but argues that the selection of games has āprobably improved year over year.ā According to PlayStation VP of global services Nick Maguire, reading the comments can be helpful despite negativity.
Speaking to GameFileās Stephen Totilo, Maguire argued that Sonyās selection of PS Plus games as improved, thanks in part to revenue generated from price hikes and players increasingly choosing the most expensive Premium/Deluxe tier of service.
āTthe quality of games, hopefully people will appreciate, is probably improving year over year,ā Maguire said, adding that he has no further comments to make about PS Plus pricing.
Speaking of comments received on the PS Blog whenever PS Plus updates are announced, Maguire says that reading comments is āhelpful to understand where people are at and, if we can, take that into our learnings in the future.ā However, Sony understands that it canāt please everyone, and PS Plus data shows players are satisfied enough. Nearly 40% of members have opted for Extra and Premium tiers rather than the cheapest Essential tier.
āBecause our strategy is about having something for everyone, therefore, by definition, thereās going to be some people that donāt want that particular month,ā Maguire concluded. āWeāll continue to listen and learn about what gamers want and try to bring more value in for them.ā
