1047 Games, the team behind Splitgate, have announced that they are ceasing feature development for the game in order to focus on new titles in the Splitgate universe.
1047 Games has confirmed that it will end development on Splitgate, instead going “all in to focus on new games in the Splitgate universe.”

“Without your support, we wouldn’t be here. We pride ourselves on trying to be as community-focused as possible. We strive to improve and build a better future for Splitgate. Thank you.” the developer saidand explains the difficulty of making Splitgate “a AAA game that can compete on par with shooters from the biggest publishers in the industry.”
The statement read, “The 1047 Games team has made the decision, after careful consideration and deliberation, to build something worthy of gaming fans, and in a way that does not attempt to modify an existing product and actually operate it. We’ve decided to end feature development for Splitgate.We’re turning our attention away from iterative small updates and doing our best to focus on new games in the Splitgate universe.This game is evolutionary. The new game, built with Unreal Engine 5, has been confirmed to be a shooter, and the developer adds that it is free.
“We want to be clear that Splitgate will remain online as well as items and progress,” they continue. “We will continue to support the game and have minor updates and fixes to Splitgate, but the bulk of our focus is on a completely new shooter that we can’t wait to share with you.”
