Now under new ownership, Square Enix Montreal Officially rebranded as Studio Onoma. Square Enix was originally thought to open a new studio in August called Studio Onoma.It was founded in 2011 and is behind various mobile adaptations such as Deus Ex Go, Lara Croft Go and Hitman Go. Developers are looking forward to a new chapter for the Embracer Group. Square Enix Montreal, along with Eidos Montreal and Crystal Dynamics, were sold to Embracer for $300 million.
Studio Onoma is working on three games
Studio Onoma, now without a Square Enix label, hopes the name change will help it “connect with multiple audiences” and not prevent it from “expanding with the market.” new websiteAfter creating a rebranding team of communication and design experts in May 2022, the studio settled on ‘Onoma’, the Greek word for ‘name’.

Studio Onoma currently has at least three games in development, including Space Invaders, Avatar Generations, and Tomb Raider Reloaded.
