Tetris Effect Connected will load all versions ahead of its release on another platform next week. This includes features that can only be performed on Switch.
The 2021 release will add four new modes to the game next week: “Zone Marathon”, “Classic Score Attack”, “Endless Master” and “Endless Purity”. As the launch title for , it will take place around the February 23rd release of the game.
Additionally, the Switch adds the option to play games in a vertical orientation, commonly known as “Tate Mode” in arcades, specifically supporting the Flip Grip Switch accessory. (Notably, Tetris Effect Connected launched on the Switch the same day as the Switch OLED, but Flip Grip doesn’t work on the OLED as the system’s wider form factor would damage the volume buttons.)
