Blizzard has announced Blood Knight, Diablo’s first new class in about a decade.
But it won’t appear in the recently released Diablo 4 – not yet, anyway. Blizzard announced Blood Knight will be released on July 13th in the free-to-download mobile game Diablo Immortal.
Blood Knight is described as a mid-range class with hybrid attack options of either melee or ranged attacks depending on proximity to the target. It’s a “vampire conqueror” that feeds on the lives of its enemies, traps them in the shadows, and specializes in polearm types.
Blood Knight is the first new Diablo class since the 2014 release of Diablo 3’s Crusader. Of course, Diablo 4 players are already wondering which new classes their game will get as DLC. Diablo 4 launched with his five classes: Barbarian, Necromancer, Druid, Rogue, and Sorcerer. Diablo 3 also released his five classes: Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Monk, Witch Doctor, and Wizard. Later, Crusader and Necromancer classes were added as DLC.
Blizzard has confirmed that two expansions are in development for Diablo 4, but no names or release dates have been announced yet. Most people expect new classes to appear in one of these extensions. Will Blood Knight finally make an appearance in Diablo 4? Blizzard didn’t say. In the short term, Diablo 4 Season 1 (Dubbed) malignant seasonstarting July 20.
