in Necrom In the Chapter Preview Live Stream, The Elder Scrolls Online team showed off the new features and gameplay of the next Chapter (coming to PlayStation on June 20th). This includes the Arcanist class, new group challenges, and parts of Apocrypha never seen before in an Elder Scrolls game.

With ESO’s first new class in four years, Arcanist, the team saw an opportunity to integrate it and its mechanics into Necrom.‘settings and themes. As a result, Arcanist draws its power from Apocrypha itself, and the team reveled in the opportunity to combine elements from the Realm of Hermaeus Mora into nearly every aspect of how the class looked, felt, and played.
Arcanists utilize three unique skill lines, each supporting a different playstyle. You are not locked into a single skill line and can combine your abilities with other skills already available.
The team also explained Arcanist’s all-new mechanic, the Crux system. During combat, some Arcanists his abilities generate new resources called Crux, while others consume her saved Crux to receive buffs. If you choose to master this new class, you must learn how to effectively utilize both your ability to produce and consume Crux.
Exploring New Sides of Apocrypha
in Necrom Chapters let you explore the Realm of Apocrypha, an infinite library containing unknown amounts of knowledge. Be careful—many are trying to figure out the hidden secrets of the Apocrypha, but Mora’s realm is full of terrifying dangers for the unprepared.
The team also revealed a completely new aspect never seen in Apocrypha. The Elder Scrolls series so far: Chroma Incognito. A rolling landscape of evocative color, Chroma Incognito is a world shaped by things that never happened. In contrast to the rest of Apocrypha, it is a realm of possibility denied by cruel fate.
This unique biome gave the team an opportunity to expand the realm of the Prince of Knowledge while creating something completely new for Elder Scrolls fans.
Of course, Chroma Incognito is packed with adventure and danger, including unique quests, caves, group bosses, and public dungeons.

During the preview, the team also had the opportunity to analyze some of Necrom’s new group challenges.
Bastion Nymic is an all-new chapter-specific world event where you and up to three allies enter one of Hermaeus Mora’s strongholds and retake it from the invaders. The stronghold guards the names of countless powers whose knowledge, in the wrong hands, could spell doom for both Apocrypha and Nirn.
However, accessing the keep is no easy task, as you’ll need to defeat the Herald Seekers that roam both the Telvanni Peninsula and Apocrypha to obtain special items. Obtaining enough items will give Bastion access to his Nimic, but be aware that numerous malevolent Daedra have invaded the fortress, including Mora’s own renegade forces. I wish you good luck!
In addition to the new World Event, Necrom also introduces a 12-player Trial: Sanity’s Edge. In this PvE group activity of his, he enters the minds of members of the Mages Guild to undo the damage done by his unauthorized research.
As you explore this battlefield of divided minds, you’ll find three unique and challenging bosses and many nefarious foes, including a surprise champion.
As you help the mage regain his shattered sanity, you’ll receive special Trial rewards, including new item sets and some of the rarest collectibles in the game, like the Ram of Dark Dreams Mount.
