Hello dear readers! We are very proud to launch this service Harmony: Dreamy Autumn Launches June 22nd on PlayStation 5nd. It’s a narrative-driven adventure with two vibrant worlds, a lovable cast of characters, and a compelling storyline that will appeal to all types of players.
One of the main features of our game is Orgular, which I would like to talk about in this blog. Orgular is a game board and visual representation of the clairvoyant talents of protagonist Polly. It’s where you anticipate everything and make every choice. Harmony: Dreamy Autumn.
We wanted Orgular to be a peaceful and beautiful place where you can prepare for your next action without stress. Therefore, the Orgular is set against the backdrop of a serene lake that reflects the starry sky, conveying the idea of a celestial chart where the light of this star can decipher fate.
When we first set out to build Augural, our goal was to provide important, well-informed choices. So you shouldn’t be surprised or caught off guard by the decisions you make. From there, it naturally evolved into a way of revealing the “core” of the story and showing how events are interconnected. We wanted to do something new with the Choices Matter subgenre.
We experimented with graphs and trees during our conceptualization. One of our main references was Augury, the ancient Greek divination art. They practiced this divination because they believed the gods were trying to communicate with mortals. This was a good way to connect Polly’s clairvoyance with this way of expressing it.
But it also brought challenges. We wanted you to feel the gift of clairvoyance and be amazed at how the story unfolds. But the biggest problem was readability. Augural has gone through quite a few iterations.
The few versions we experimented with that didn’t end up in the game were more complex trees sprawling in different directions, or cards appearing on the board as the story progressed, and at some point Well, there was even a building you owned. You can now rotate in 3D! Ultimately, we did a lot of testing, removed unnecessary visual elements, simplified backgrounds, improved readability at all zoom levels, and spent a lot of time tweaking navigation to make the system more user-friendly. made it friendly.
Orgular is a very visual way to play, so we had to create a system where even seemingly small decisions can lead to big results in the end. This is so that you can visualize how you play to achieve the desired result. During the game, you can also make decisions that have an immediate impact on the story, unlock branches while closing access for others.
Use crystals when making bigger decisions. This resource, the connection between the two worlds, is another unique aspect of the game viewed and managed in Orgular. As the story progresses, you’ll collect crystals from aspirations (ancient god-like beings living in Reverie) that you’ve helped or been helped on your journey. Depending on who uses which crystals, his desires will affect the real world until one of them stands above the others as the center of humanity…perhaps.
Harmony: Dreamy Autumn is a game that relies on story and gameplay fluidly reacting to each other. Story complexity shouldn’t get in the way of comprehension. I hope you managed to succeed, but please play and let us know what you think. Harmony: Dreamy Autumn Released on the 22ndnd PlayStation 5 launches in June.
