Her reign is built on a pile of bones. dead by daylight‘s latest killer is the Skull Merchant, a ruthless apex hunter who seeks prey worthy of her talents.
After years of experimentation, she finally perfected her deadliest tool: a drone. Drones are designed to observe and track survivors in their vicinity. Meticulously handcrafted using the skulls of her many victims, these grotesque combinations of bone and metal , casts an oppressive shadow.
To use this killer effectively, you’ll need to set traps, analyze key points of interest, and be ready to take advantage of brave survivors. The Skull Merchant comes with 3 Character Perks, Game Afoot, Swack!and leverage – This guide focuses on her powers and how to use them.
drone zone
The power of the Skull Merchant, Eyes to the Sky, can place multiple drones in a location of her choosing. Some potential locations could be generators, hex her totems, or around areas with heavy traffic. There are also radar devices that can track the survivor’s location under certain circumstances.
Once the drone is positioned, it enters active mode Detects survivors within a surrounding radius. Note that you become undetectable while within this radius. Also, survivors who enter it will appear on the radar. While within the active zone, the drone gradually locks onto its survivors, revealing their exact location through Killer Instincts. they are made public.
If the survivor does not enter the radius after a few seconds while the drone is in active mode, the drone will switch to active mode. scout modeIn recon mode, the drone slowly rolls to bring survivors into view. It is much safer to approach during this time if survivors can avoid the drone’s spinning line of sight. However, when drones detect them, they quickly infiltrate active mode.
After deploying the drone, you can summon it or manually set it to active mode, but you cannot force it back to scouting mode. Consider using this if you anticipate a Survivor approaching a drone and trying to neutralize it. Remember, the more positively the survivor stresses about the drone, the better the results.
Main arrangement
One of the Skull Merchant’s greatest strengths is knowing where survivors are. Keep in mind that when you first spawn into a trial, survivors will usually spawn at a considerable distance. Skull Merchant has no cross-map mobility, which can effectively disrupt his plans early in the game.
As you approach, you’ll notice that there are some generators we haven’t touched on yet. Survivors will eventually make their way to these generators, so these are ideal areas to place your drones. From there, you’ll have to choose between ignoring the drone and committing to the generator, building progress and becoming Exposed and revealed by the Killer Instinct, or disabling the drone and receiving a Claw Trap.
Claw trap: If a Survivor successfully hacks and disables one of your drones, that drone will receive a Claw Trap. Once a Survivor receives a claw her trap, they can track their location on radar until the trap’s battery runs out.
Drones create a danger zone for survivors, so it is effective to deploy multiple drones to expand the range of the net. That way, you can maximize your chances of a favorable outcome. You can now target Exposed Survivors or track Claw Trapped Survivors on your radar. A Claw Trapped Survivor may try to take you to an inconvenient location. In that case, it’s up to you to decide if that tracking is worth doing.
After all, The Skull Merchant is a killer who specializes in trap placement, so don’t be disappointed if you lose a few generators in the early game.
drone and radar
Dealing with all these drones can feel overwhelming. Especially when the initial placement proves ineffective and you have to improvise on the fly. Drones can be of great value in tracking. Especially if you’re chasing survivors around complex loops with limited visibility.
If you remain in the drone’s active zone, Killer Instinct will not only eventually reveal your exact location, but it will also give you the immediate advantage of becoming undetectable. This means you don’t have to worry about hiding red stains anymore, and survivors will have a hard time figuring out your location.
For radar, remember. There’s a reason for that. Use it to get important information about the survivor’s whereabouts. The far left light indicates where the drone can be placed, and the far right light indicates that the survivor is within the drone’s active zone. While the power is on cooldown, the radar will not light up. Pay attention to these visual signals!
Skull Merchant is all about control, and you’ll quickly realize that an effective setup can lead to truly ruthless results.Skull Merchant is now available Dead by Daylight’s Tools of Torment chapter on Xbox.
