Team Xbox continues to bring you new ways to make Xbox better, and we look forward to improving your experience and delivering new features based on your feedback. In this month’s update, you can change your TV volume from your Xbox Series X|S console, mute all startup sounds, improve the setup screen for choosing and changing your home Xbox, and update your Xbox controller firmware. Change TV Volume – New CEC Feature for Xbox Series X|S
The Xbox Series X|S console uses an HDMI feature called Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) that allows it to send commands to and receive commands from a CEC-enabled device, such as a TV, connected to the console. Starting today, we’re enabling new features for Xbox Series X|S consoles connected to TVs via HDMI.
You can now change the TV volume in the Audio and Music section of the Xbox guide. We’re adding some new setup screens to make it easier to choose and change your home console when setting up your new Xbox.
Xbox power mode name change
Depending on your preference, you can configure your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One console to use different power modes. This month, we’ve updated the information and renamed the options to help you choose the best settings. “Standby” is updated to “Sleep”, and “Energy Saving” is updated to “Shutdown (Energy Saving)”. Xbox passkeys and guest keys are now Xbox PINs
Xbox passkeys and guest keys are additional layers of security associated with your Xbox profile. We’re updating the names from Xbox Passkey and Xbox Guest Key to Xbox PIN and Xbox Guest PIN, but nothing else has changed. You can use her PIN on any Xbox console you sign in to restrict access to purchases, parental controls, and more.
Xbox controller firmware update
Keeping your controller updated with the latest software maximizes controller functionality and compatibility. Starting today, we are rolling out a firmware update that includes bug fixes for USB flight sticks that connect to Xbox Adaptive Controllers, and additional bug fixes for the following Xbox controllers:
- Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2
- Xbox Series X|S Wireless Controller
- Xbox Adaptive Controller
- Xbox One Wireless Controller with Bluetooth support
Controllers can be updated wirelessly or via a USB connection.
Xbox App – Trim Video Clip Length
Got an epic gaming moment you want to save and share? You can now trim the length of your Xbox game video clips using the Xbox app for Android and iOS.To get started, please visit Library > Capture Click to select any clip. You can adjust the start and end of your clip and share it with your friends. Video trimming in the Xbox app starts today and will be available to all users soon.
