This week we have something to make you laugh: This is someone’s mod that puts arguably the most famous song to come out of the Final Fantasy series, One Winged Angel, into Trombone Champ. (opens in new tab) We can see a blocky 1990s Sephiroth who would become a world-destroying god badly destroying his own theme music on a trombone.
modder Henry Chow textbook (opens in new tab) crafted this adaptation with custom charts and background orchestration of Sephiroth playing the trombone. One with a ridiculously long slide, not just a trombone.Because if Sephiroth’s sword is eight feet long, his trombone Even longer.
Here’s the thing: When I was a little bored, when I thought all the jokes were over, I saw something to see, heard something to hear, remembered something.
One Winged Angel has the entire three acts baked into it. It moves from symphonic madness to chanting orchestral bombs to electric guitar shredding, culminating in a fusion of all three styles. At the beginning of each of these periods, the track’s background image switches to a properly glowing scene.
If you remember any of the music from Sephiroth’s Boss, Final Fantasy VII, Advent Children, or where this music came from, see above or on youtube. (opens in new tab) YouTube also has a link to download abomination yourself if you want to try it out.
Trombone Champ already gave us Megalovania (opens in new tab)and the trombone section of the Philadelphia Orchestra totally sucks (opens in new tab) So, but now? What other gift could this “instant game of the year nominee” be? (opens in new tab) give?
do i dare wish Cruel Angel’s Thesis? (opens in new tab) I can try, and I hope.
