IO Interactive has announced plans to simplify purchasing options for Hitman games. Hitman 3 will be rebranded as World of Assassination later this month, removing the first two games of his from sale.
The latest Hitman trilogy has been considered to be one of the best games on Game Pass since it joined Game Pass last January, but the developer’s IOI is somewhat confusing for the game. It looks like there could be casualties as you try to simplify your purchasing options — According to IOIas of January 26th, Hitman 3 will be World of Assassination and will include all standard content from Hitman and Hitman 2.
‘Hitman’ and ‘Hitman 2’ to be delisted at the end of this month
It’s not entirely clear what this simplification of purchase options means for the two games left off the list going forward — owners should still be able to play them, but IO won’t be making Hitman 3 (or Hitman : World of Assassination). ) likely means that continued support won’t last forever, which can be problematic given the many moving parts to how the Hitman game works. If the two games still require achievements (rather than the short list of content that appears as an extension of Hitman 3’s achievements), this is probably a sign that you want to crack it sooner or later.
Given the timing of the planned rebranding and delisting almost exactly one year after the trilogy hit Game Pass, it’s no wonder the Hitman Trilogy is part of the second wave of Game Pass dropouts in January. feels like a match. If you’ve been playing these games through the service, this is also a good opportunity to crack them, as there’s a good chance they’ll no longer be available through Game Pass.
Disappointed to see these great stealth games go away? Let us know!
