So about that Call of Duty post…
The biggest objections to the merger of Microsoft and Activision have been raised in the home countries of the two monoliths.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) today voted 3-2 to proceed with a lawsuit blocking Microsoft’s $68.7 billion acquisition of Call of Duty/Warcraft/Candy Crush publishers. The deal was approved in several smaller jurisdictions, but competition bodies in the US, UK and European Union have all objected.
The lawsuit, alleging that allowing the acquisition would harm competition in the industry, was rumored before Thanksgiving weekend in the United States.
