Masahiro Sakurai has posted a new video about the process of making a game. This time we’re focusing on the concept of ‘risk and reward’ and how this forms part of the ‘core essence’ of the game. Needless to say, it seems like a very important concept to add to your knowledge toolbox for anyone interested in game development.
use space invaders When Super mario bros. As an example to illustrate the idea, Sakurai explains how important it is to balance risk and reward in creating an interesting and engaging game. For example, Space Invaders explains how important it is to be aware of an enemy’s attack range and position your laser cannon accordingly to achieve your goal. Rather, it is to intercept the enemy. This allows you to aim your own shots while avoiding incoming laser beams.
If you’re particularly good at playing games, the idea of risk and reward may not even cross your mind while you’re playing, but for someone looking to create their own game, it’s more complicated. There is no doubt that it is a useful concept. According to Sakurai, at least – essential to creating a successful game.
