Wow. This week has been so full of news that I’m hesitant to add more for fear of bursting. Who would have thought that Bayonetta 3’s drama would turn everything upside down? Welcome to the world of Nintendo!
Dear readers, aside from keeping up to date with all the twists and turns of the aforementioned voice acting controversy, all Mario Party titles are available ahead of the release of the first two games in the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. I’ve been busy working on the ranking of Layers the Moon, and all Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s new “mon” (totally factual and objective, of course).
We also managed to get some new games this week. From the super fun Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope and Persona 5 Royal to the less fun Nickelodeon Kart Racer 3: Slime Speedway.
I hope this weekend is not filled with drama. Below, our group of writers share their game plans for the next few days. We hope you do the same! Read on, then leave a comment below and let us know what you’re playing this weekend.
happy reading!

The Nintendo gods have done me a favor this week. I finished my tunic last weekend (very sad) and had to renew my NSO membership this week (also very sad). However I chose the expansion pack this time. When I’m going out for the weekend, so I have two long train journeys ahead of me (very happy)!
All of this new power means I’m definitely going to hit some N64 titles. literal childthe N64 was released before I was born, so there are many holes in my knowledge that I would like to plug in. Before diving into Starfox 64, things to kick off with F-Zero X and Banjo-Kazooie I’m thinking of
Of course, that power might just come to a head and end up playing Ocarina of Time for the 200th time, but is it really that bad? Yes, it’s Jim. You should play another game.

As a full WH40K nut, I am very much looking forward to spending quality time with Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef. October is coming to an end, but there are two more stellar AAA releases this week for him. I hope you find time to enjoy this: the long-awaited and rumored Persona 5 Royal (I’m new to the game!) and the charming new antic Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. Add in my ongoing SD Gundam Battle Alliance campaign, and I’m sure this weekend will fall short of all the video game-related missions planned.
This week’s game is (still!) NieR: Automata. The game has been living rent-free in my head since its release. Very happy with this stellar transformation.

This weekend I’m going to play something that I absolutely (kind of) don’t need to replay – Persona 5 Royal. persona 5 I used to play it on my PS4, but it wasn’t available when Royal was released, so I’m curious to see if the changes make this an even better game. I don’t have much time to tell the story, but I’m looking forward to visiting Shujin Academy in Tokyo again.
We also cover Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope for some nice lighthearted fun. I don’t mind the low difficulty (I’m not good at strategy games!), and I don’t mind the lack of multiplayer. I just want to play something really silly and colorful.I think Persona 5 fits that brief too!

Listen… do you know what I’m playing this weekend? Everyone is. Resident Evil 4. After seeing a great gameplay demonstration of the upcoming remake (obviously not coming to Switch), I was drawn back. again, to the game that brings me endless joy and happiness. I’m not sure if I’ll take my time and experience the game as it was intended before the remake’s launch, or just barrel straight through the speedrun.
Elsewhere, I play a bit of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Arguably his one of the best platformers ever created. I haven’t touched it in years, so it’s great to dive in again. Whether or not it ends this weekend is another story.

This weekend, I’m going to see my partner finish Virtue’s Last Reward, play a ton of Disney Dreamlight Valley, and finish Limbo (I really don’t want to, but ugggggggggggggggggggggggh).
However! Also, I would like to introduce a PC game that I would like to recommend.it is called golden idol incidentand if you enjoyed the return of Obra Dinn, you should definitely try it.
I hope you enjoy reading it. Leave us a comment below about your game plans for the weekend!
