Xbox boss Phil Spencer was once again questioned about the recent console pricing topic. PS5 price increaseSpencer hasn’t ruled out the possibility that Microsoft will raise the price of its hardware, but now isn’t the right time to hit customers with a higher price tag that seems to cast a shadow over Sony. He also stressed that Microsoft is too busy delivering value to players through its Game Pass service and is not considering raising prices at this time.

“In a time of unprecedented financial hardship and uncertainty for our customers, we do not believe that raising console prices at this time is the right move,” Spencer told CNBC. I’m thinking about it,” adding that value. It’s now “incredibly important” to Microsoft, even if it means losing money. “We’re always evaluating our future business, so we can’t say we’re doing nothing, but when we look at today’s consoles, we think value is very important.”
Spencer also revealed that a significant percentage of new Xbox players are coming in via the Xbox Series S, the budget-friendly digital current generation console. Microsoft certainly doesn’t want to impede its progress, and wants to keep the momentum going, especially given the relatively poor performance of the Xbox One in the market.
Microsoft has the advantage of being a US-based company. Sony, on the other hand, has struggled with exchange rate fluctuations. As a result, the company has increased the price of his PS5 almost everywhere except the US, where it hasn’t felt a pinch yet. Analysts say the impact on sales will be minimal.
