Microsoft officially brought the Xbox Elite 2 controller into the company’s Xbox Design Lab after rolling out the feature last month.
Like the standard Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Design Lab’s Elite 2 Controller allows you to fully customize almost every part of the controller (triggers, directional pad, thumbsticks, etc.). Microsoft also notes that players can finally choose between cross-shaped or faceted D-Pad in his Xbox Design Lab. This is a feature that was not previously possible.
This is the first time Microsoft has allowed the option to fully customize a flagship controller since launching the Xbox Design Lab in 2016. Microsoft will temporarily pause the program ahead of the launch of the Xbox Series X/S and resume in June 2021, discontinuing custom Xboxes. One controller in favor of the Xbox Series X/S controller.
Custom Elite 2 controllers from Xbox Design Lab start at $149.99, but retail for $209.99 with the option to fully customize the Elite 2 controller and all Elite components.
